What was your first Cosplay Experience?
I first cosplayed in my second year of high school after seeing my sister, Lossien(facebook.com/lossien), cosplay at an event the year before. My first costume was Kagome from Inuyasha, thrown together in the few days before the convention so I could match some friends. Once I wore the costume to the event, getting great reactions and meeting so many people, I fell in love with the hobby.
How long have you been Cosplaying?
I’m coming up on my tenth year actually!
Who or What inspired you to take up Cosplaying?
My sister was the main reason I started though my parents were also Trekkies so when I was very young, they would dress up me and my sisters and go to Star Trek conventions! I have to say I have some of the best baby photos because of it!
If you had to pick a favorite Cosplay you have worn or have seen someone else wear, what would it be?
One of my favorites would be Super Girl or Wonder Woman! Super Girl is really comfortable and fun whereas Wonder Woman is empowering and just gives me a sense of strength and courage!
If you had unlimited funds and resources, what Cosplay would you create?
Every outfit from Game of Thrones? Honestly, most likely Cersei from Game of Thrones or Anne Boelyn from Tudors.
What advice would you offer others who are aspiring Cosplayers?
Try your best and have fun with it. It’s okay to fail, it’s okay to mess up, it’s all a part of the learning process!
