Atari has announced it will be releasing a bundle of 100 classic Atari Games to Steam later this spring. The bundle will include games such as: Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Tempest and Warlords. In addition to the announced games, the bundle will feature Steam Controller support as well on local and online multiplayer. Global leaderboards will be added as well. No indication of price has been mentioned.
It’s good to see Atari still alive and kicking. Since the movie Pixels, my son has been bugging me to play some of the old Atari classics. It would be nice to have them all in a bundle. It’s interesting that Steam Controller support is being used instead of Xbox Controller support. Personally, I feel the Xbox Controller is better, but the Steam Controller does add more flexibility to control schemes. Regardless, it’s a chance to bust out my Steam Controller, which largely collects dust.
