Dec 8, 2017

One of the more popular games of the WiiU will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Deep in the heart of the 2017 Video Game Awards, Nintendo announced that they are not only bringing Bayonetta 1 and 2 to the Nintendo Switch eShop but are also deep in development for Bayonetta 3! Check out the trailer for the latest Nintendo Switch exclusive below.

Set in the fictional European city of Vigrid, Bayonetta follows the shapeshifting eponymous character after she awakens from a 500-year slumber with no memory of her life before. As Bayonetta regains her powers, including the ability to perform magic attacks with her hair, she learns of her involvement in the rift between the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages, two factions that have mysteriously vanished during her absence.

While not much is information is known about Bayonetta 3, the upcoming ports of its predecessors is a welcome addition to the library of the Switch. Bayonetta’s blend of fast-paced action-adventure and hack-and-slash gameplay has been heralded by fans since its release in 2009 and since then its audience has only grown. Developer Platinum Games is continuing its run with the franchise as a Nintendo exclusive (with accompanying Amiibo) and the conversion to the home/portable hybrid console will surely have an impact on sales for those that are waiting for more adult-themed titles.

The Bayonetta 1 and 2 bundle will launch both in a physical edition and on the eShop on February 16th at a price point of $59.99. No release date has been announced for Bayonetta 3.
