What made you choose the name “meepygal”?
Well that goes back to when I was around 12-13 years old. I first created the handle name “meep” back when I was posting on anime forums with my friends. The nickname “Meepy” kind of caught on and I added “gal” at the end when I created my facebook page.

How long have you been cosplaying and how old are you?
I am 19 years (turning 20 in October) old and I have been cosplaying for almost seven years.

You’re quite established on YouTube. How did you get so popular and what topics do you usually speak about in your videos?
My main topics are my hobbies which include anime, conventions and cosplay. I would honestly love to release short films every week but its nearly impossible to do so where I live so I do a variety of vlogs, videos and short films when possible. A couple of YouTubers that I got to know very well really encouraged me to make videos and through a lot of collaborating Iv’e gotten o where I am now.

What does “cosplay” mean to you?
Dressing up in costumes. Its as simple as that.

I know you get asked a lot about plug suits and because of that, you’re going to be writing a book tutorial on it. What made you want to pursue this and is there any eta?
Yep I am currently working on the book! To be honest its been taking a lot more time since I have been so busy… The reason why I want to make this is to be able to get best information out to people as quickly and efficiently. As much as I would love to individually answer messages about constructing the costumes I don’t have time. With this book all of the information (its NOT a step by step tutorial) and tips on these plugsuits will be available in a compact, affordable ebook for everyone to access.

How many cosplays do you usually make a year and are there any you are working on now?
Oh gosh that is a difficult question. I’m not sure how many I make every year anymore. I’m currrently working on Arwen’s Chase dress (LOTR) and some Kill la Kill costumes for a video project.

Who would you say is your favorite character to cosplay and why?
It’s a tie between Rei Ayanami (Evangelion) and Miss America Chavez (Young Avengers). They are both characters that fit me very well and I also relate to alot.

What conventions have you been to and are there any you still want to experience some day?
I’ve been to quite a lot. Sakura Con, Emerald City Comic Con, Fanime, etc. I have been wanting to experience Sand Diego Comic Con for years and I’m finally getting to go as a professional this year! I also would love to hit up international cons in the future.

Would you like to make your cosplay or YouTube into a career? Why?
Cosplay? Hell no. YouTube? It already is. I’m currently not making a full time income off of my own channel but I work for other companies and gigs for acting/videos/etc. I really wan’t to go full time with my own brand though.

What advice do you wish someone would have given you when you first started cosplaying?
I don’t think there is much advice I would of given myself. There’s not a lot of things I regret when it comes to this hobby and learning everything on my own was a good experience. This hobby has been a blast and a doorway to amazing things in my life.
