Destiny: The Unboxing

Sep 24, 2014

As most, if not all, of the gaming community already know, Destiny has released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One about a week ago following a long campaign of ads of such, building a huge amount of hype. I went with the hype and actually purchased to Ghost Edition for the PlayStation 4, and I certainly do not regret it! Having some time with the game, it’s just fantastic, it’s something new and fresh, it has a familiar feel, but isn’t something we’ve really experienced before and I’m just loving it so far.
The game gives you three choices of playable classes, the Warlock, Hunter, and Titan. I chose the Warlock just because it was my favorite to use in the beta, and I’ll probably try the other classes soon. The game described by many as a mix of Borderlands and Halo, and that’s pretty accurate and a ton of fun! The best way to experience the game is with a “Fireteam,” which is basically a group of three people going co-op, or in the player vs player section which is labeled as the “Crucible”.
As for the whole Ghost Edition, I took the liberty of unboxing it and uploading it to YouTube for those interested. A basic synopsis of what’s included is the Ghost figure, steel book case, some “Golden Age Relics,” and an arms book. For those hesitant about picking up Destiny, don’t be. This game is definitely in the top 3 PS4 games that are released, and in my opinion, will be the rest of this year. If you’ve already picked up Destiny, what’s your favorite class? Are you playing solo or do you have your own fireteam? Did the game meet your expectations or fail to make the jump to the next planet? Let me know in the comments!
