Edgar Wright is back with ‘Baby Driver’

Mar 11, 2017

Edgar Wright returned to Austin’s South By Southwest Festival today to debut the premiere of his latest film Baby Driver, which stars Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Kevin Spacey. Eiza González, Jon Hamm and Ansel Elgort were also in attendance at the premiere.

Now for those that missed out on the SXSW premiere, you won’t leave empty handed as the trailer has also premiered online via EW,

Official Synopsis:

Talented getaway driver Baby (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. After meeting the woman (Lily James) of his dreams, he sees a chance to ditch his criminal lifestyle and make a clean break. Coerced into working for a mob boss (Kevin Spacey), Baby must face the music as a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom

Personally, I am extremely excited for this film as it marks the return of Edgar since 2013’s The World’s End. Edgar has brought us some brilliant titles from the Cornetto Trilogy to Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Edgar has also reunited with cinematographer Bill Pope, who also worked on Scott Pilgrim as well as The World’s End.

The trailer looks like the perfect combination of comedy and action, something right up Edgar’s alley. Anyone else get a Han Solo vibe when we first meet Baby, played by Ansel Elgort?

Written and directed by Wright, Baby Driver opens August 11th.
