Game of Thrones Creators Join A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Feb 6, 2018

With Game of Thrones reaching its final season in the spring of 2019, the creators of the show look to have a new project on the three sun horizon.

Creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were announced today to be writing and producing a new series of Star Wars films that are separate from the Skywalker Saga and the newly announced series being done by Rian Johnson.

“David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. “Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.”

“In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we’ve been dreaming of it ever since,” Benioff and Weiss said in a joint statement. “We are honored by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started as soon as the final season of Game of Thrones is complete.”

With the fresh blood that has been brought to the franchise from Johnson and soon from Benioff and Weiss, it appears that the Force will be strong for quite a while longer.

Does this mean we will be able to finally see the Krayt Dragon that was just a skeleton on Tatooine? Only time will tell.
