NetherRealm Studios is keeping the hype going with the newest story trailer for Injustice 2. This trailer focuses on The Society, an alliance of villains led by Gorilla Grodd seeking to gain control of the world now that Superman’s Regime is fallen.
With The Society entering the arena, there will be at least four “factions” in the story of Injustice 2: Batman’s Insurgency, Superman’s Regime, Grodd’s Society, and Brianiac’s fleet. However, we did get a glimpse of Batman and Superman uncovering the Justice League’s broken round table, so there may be some hope of reconciliation between the two heroes in order to stop The Society and Brainiac’s forces.
As of now, we can see that the members of The Society include Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold, Scarecrow, Bane, Poison Ivy, Cheetah, Deadshot, and Reverse Flash. There may be more eventually, but from this trailer, and from the official Injustice website, these are the confirmed members.
Will Batman and his team be able to thwart the plans of The Society, stop the rise of Superman’s Regime, and defend the world from Brainiac’s invasion? It doesn’t seem likely, so the events of Injustice 2 are bound to be full of surprises and unlikely alliances.
Injustice 2 will be released for Xbox One and PS4 on May 16th, 2017.
