Johnny Depp to join the Universal Monster Universe

Feb 11, 2016

Looks like Universal is getting serious about the Monster Universe. Johnny Depp has been signed on to play Dr. Jack Griffin. Dr. Jack Griffin is better known to the masses as The Invisible Man brought to life in 1933 by the ever so talented Claude Rains.

For those who don’t know The Invisible Man is about a scientist who finds a way to make himself invisible. The problem is in doing so he becomes very insane. To the point he become dangerous and very aggressive. I recently just watched this film and I still love it to this day. This is a great time for horror fans. If Universal can reboot these films and have them intertwining together like the Marvel Universe we are in store for some great things. Yes I know we did get to see most of the original Universal Monsters together but that was in a comedy called “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein”. Lets just hope this new reboot does not make a comedy of these great monsters and films of the past.
