Does anyone have a paper bag that I can breathe into? Nintendo has officially announced a September release for the SNES Classic (gasp)! Similar to the famed NES Classic, this amazing miniature Super Nintendo will come complete with 21 games pre-loaded onto the console.
Titles range from landmark games such as Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past to cult titles like Secret of Mana and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Seriously… my heart is beating out of my chest in excitement. See the full list of games below.

As previously reported by GWW, rumors have been circulating for quite some time in regards to the next phase of Nintendo Nostalgia (trademark pending) and this news should appease fans worldwide. By far the most interesting part of this announcement was the addition of the previously unreleased Star Fox 2. As most fans know, Star Fox 2 was completed for the Super Nintendo however it was shelved in favor of the development of Star Fox 64. The inclusion of unreleased software is a great sign that the famed publisher is really playing to longtime fans of their catalogue and here’s hoping they continue the trend.
Much like their previous emulation machine, the SNES Classic will feature save states for ease of play and a spectacular menu highlighting the cover art of each title. Additional features are unknown at this time and there have been no announcements for improvements (such as online capability) over the NES Classic. Hopefully one improvement will be the availability of the product which alienated so many fans on the last go around.
For now get ready to wind your way through Super Metroid, fire off the hadokens in Street Fighter II Turbo or work on your golf game with Kirby’s Dream Course. Get ready for some sidewalk camping as Nintendo releases the SNES Classic on September 29th at a cost of $79.99 USD.
