Phantom Trigger Gets an August 10 release date (Nintendo Switch/Steam)

Aug 2, 2017

Phantom Trigger, “a Hardcore Neon Slasher with RPG elements,” is coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch on August 10, according to publisher tinyBuild. It will sell for $14.99 on both platforms. Other platforms have not been announced yet.

Combining elements from slasher and RPG genres, Phantom Trigger takes a diverse combo system and builds on it, with trapping and freezing enemies, herding groups, burning bosses and dashing from one combo to the next.

This indie title places gamers in the role of Stan, a white-collar middle-class worker living an ordinary life that gets disrupted by a mysterious event. Stan will discover a brand new world and attempt to connect the dots along a branching story through FIVE neon-demonic worlds. As was announced in March, Phantom Trigger still has 4 alternate endings.

tinyBuild estimates that this title will be a journey with well over 7 hours of gameplay. Keeping true to the social nature of the Nintendo Switch, local co-op will be available when the game releases.

With its multiple endings, five distinct worlds to explore, and seemingly deep combat system, Phantom Trigger appears to be a title worth keeping your eyes on. GWW will be reviewing this title, so definitely stay tuned for that!
