The newest issue of All New Guardians of the Galaxy has the team returning to Earth (a prospect Rocket is not a fan of). One of the new developments for the series, besides the hunt for the Infinity Stones, would be that the Guardians are going to get a new member.

According to the cover art, the choice would be between Man-Thing, Doctor Strange, Cable, and Deadpool. While all of them factor into the plot of the issue (Cable’s role is unknown, but important enough to have Loki impersonate him to throw off the team), the newest member of the Guardians of the Galaxy is someone you don’t see on the cover at all, or do you?

In the issue, Deadpool stows away on the Milano in order to escape his actions during Secret Empire. He’s discovered by Rocket based mostly on his smell and his broken body is discarded on Earth so he can heal. It turns out that another stowaway was on board the ship as well, specifically on Rocket; Scott Lang.

Scott Lang had his own issues during Secret Empire. Specifically, he betrayed the entire resistance to Steve Rogers and HYDRA because they had his daughter. He explains the situation to the team who decides to let him stay in order to avoid being arrested. A prospect that might be short lived as the team is arrested by the Nova Corps after picking up Groot.

So Scott Lang is the newest member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It will be interesting to see how it works out for him.
