Marvel’s ominous teasers continue as another vague picture is released. It simply reads “Injustice, Like Lighting . . .” and features silhouettes leaping into battle as a storm rages behind them. The cover looks to be an homage to the Thunderbolts #1 and thus could be teasing a new Thunderbolts book following the events of Avengers: Standoff.
UPDATE #1! It appears we now have confirmation that this is a new Thunderbolts book from Marvel as original members Meteorite and MACH-1 are now featured in an updated version of the cover. Still no creative team or any other details announced, but we will continue to update this post as more characters are revealed.
Update #2!! Marvel has reveled even more of this “new” Thunderbolts team and again some familar faces surface as it appears the original Thunderbolts are making a huge come back. In this latest teaser we now see Fixer and Atlas has been added to the roster. This makes 4 Thunderbolts from the original team. So who’s next?
Final Update!! The full Thunderbolts team has been reveled as The Winter Solider leads Atlas, Meteorite, Fixer, MACH-V leap into action with a mysterious new character. It appears Marvel wants to slowly unveil this new team, as they have once again left most of the members covered in darkness. One figure does stand out in this image, and it appears to be a metallic little girl, bathed in silver and blue. While I can’t tell exactly who this is, I am sure we can assume she will play a key role in this new team and the upcoming Avengers: Standoff event. Obviously, Marvel is putting a lot into these teasers, so let’s hope they really pay off in a big way as Marvel’s last event didn’t go so well for them.
Considering this is the third teaser like this we have received, I am sure there are plenty more to come.
