Your laptop will never be able to reach the performance that it can if you do not make the right changes. If you want some tips and advice then you can find out whatever you need to know, right here.

Keep your Laptop Clean and Dust-Free

You will only be able to improve your laptop if you physically maintain it. You have to clean out any dust and dirt, as this will reduce airflow and it may even overheat your laptop as a result. When the heat builds up, your computer will slow down overall. The best way for you to deal with this would be for you to remove the dust, but if your laptop is sealed then you may end up voiding the warranty so be careful with this.

Update the Drivers

Another thing that you can do is update the drivers. If you are not sure how to find out if your drivers need updating or not, then it may be a good idea for you to check under your settings. When you do this, you can then click on update manually to get everything in order.

Direct X

If you are an avid gamer then DirectX is a vital component that you will almost certainly need. There have been various types released over the years, so it helps to make sure that the one you have is the best one for what you are looking for.

Overclock the Graphics Card

This is a bit risky if you are a beginner, but it is possible for you to speed up your performance overall if you know what you are looking for. Overclocking does use up way more electricity so you may need to adjust your computer’s power settings to make sure that you don’t end up frying your system. Your laptop’s cooling system should be more than capable of being able to keep everything under control, but if for some reason it can’t, there are a few things that you can do, such as installing extra fans or only running it in overclock for short periods of time.

Use a VPN

Sometimes using a VPN to download can help you to speed up your computer. This will depend on where you are downloading from, if your ISP is throttling your speed or any other variables. There are so many VPN for laptops out there and if you download them then you can easily reap the benefits.

Power Settings

A lot of devices can enjoy a much higher level of improved operation if you adjust the power. Power management is a big deal so it helps to keep your laptop plugged in if you are using a high-powered game or even a software. Windows will give you a ton of options that will help you to take care of all this, so you won’t have to worry about a thing.

Game Mode

This is a tip that absolutely anybody can use. Windows 10 actually comes with its very own Xbox application. This gives you access to a ton of different things, such as game recording, and so much more. If you want to take advantage of this or if you do want to optimise your laptop then you may want to activate this mode. The best way for you to do this would be for you to press WIN and G. If you are prompted, then just click yes. This will speed up your laptop by a huge amount.

Close Background Apps

Open your system tray and check to see if you have any applications open. If you do, then now is the time for you to close down any that you don’t need. If you are having a hard time knowing which ones you need to keep open and which ones you don’t then just go for the obvious ones.

Network Speed

If you are going online a lot and want to boost your network speed, then it does help to check to see if your internet is to blame. Updating your computer is the best way for you to avoid any problems but if you do still feel as though you are lacking speed then the best way for you to get around this would be for you to use an ethernet cable instead.

Don’t Use Automatic Updates

Automatic updates can be a huge pain. Windows can download updates in the background but if they do then sometimes they can impact your speed. If you want to get around this then you need to make sure that you keep your PC offline as much as possible. Sure, this can be a pain but at the end of the day, it is one of the best ways for you to make sure that you are making the most out of the speeds you do have.
