What a nice touch from Image Publishing Coordinator Shannon Bailey acknowledging what a tease Spawn Kills Everyone Too #1. It was a perfect way to end Spawn Kills Everyone Too #2, which was definitely a step in the right direction.

Although, for a minute there it felt like we were getting another lackluster issue with no violence. Because, for some reason, Spawn thought it was a good idea to try and flush Aquaman, instead of lance him with his trident. Maybe this is all buildup for a triumphant return to his old self. Or it could be setting up for some family fun, now that Spawn’s babies are killing machines, too.

Todd McFarlane did well with their kills this issue, too. As much as it killed him, the Captain Canada outfit was actually pretty cool. It was certainly better to see him in that as opposed to his Hydra outfit. Hulk’s death was, well different. Anyone who says, “no way can that happen,” remember, you’re reading a comic book about a character that pooped out weird baby versions of himself. Those babies then decided to eat one another so they could consolidate numbers and make themselves bigger. So, check yourself before you complain about Hulk dying because his pants were too tight.

Hopefully, Spawn gets his act together so he can get in on the fun. He just needs to embrace the violence. Look at his “kids”. They could not have been more vicious. Maybe McFarlane’s saving him for some of the other characters. Between Spawn’s hit list and the babies going after Alien, McFarlane has made it clear, DC and Marvel characters are not the only ones in play. Everyone is fair game.
