With the release of Stranger Things season 4 fans have a whole range of questions and theories. Such as who is in charge of the Upside Down? And is 11 the Demogorgon?
Is 11 The Demogorgon?
No. Many fans thought she was but it has been proven time and again that she is not the Demogorgon. With that myth busted lets move to talk about some more important theories.
Vecna Controls it All.
At the end of season 4 when Vecna traps Nacy in his Mindscape he reminds her of the death of her best friend Barbara who died in season 1 .
There's one main reason why this little detail is so important. Bard was killed by the Demogorgon, and if Vecna remembers everyone that he kills it must mean that he was controling the Demogorgon back in season 1
This also explains why the Demogorgon specifically attacked Dr. Brenner and 11. Vecna may also have control of the Mind Flayer, which would explain why it’s always after 11.
Now listen, I could be completely wrong, but in season 4 Vecna states that whenever he kills someone his power increases.
Why Did Vecna Kill Them?
I believe that Vecna's powers were weakened when 11 sent him the the Upside Down, causing him to use the Demogorgon as a sort of puppet in order to restore his power.
They could be, but personally I don't think they are. It doesn't make much sense to have them be the same and if they tried to make them the same it would just end up as lazy writing.
Is Vecna The Mind Flayer?
Right now it's just an ongoing fan theory. But I have found a strong it’s a question everyone has been asking ever since we saw Vecna.
Who is in Control of The Upside Down?
And I believe that Vecna has control of the Upside Down duu to being linked to the Hivemind. But I also think that the Mind Flayer is like the living embodiment of the Upside Down.
