A Fond Farewell to 2012

Jan 1, 2013

The sun has set on 2012 – a year with outstanding games and entertainment all around. GWW would like to thank you all for your support and contributions. We tripled in size over 2011 and are presently developing new content and content delivery methods to help grow our community. Twitter has been particularly strong for us – we are over 300 strong. Our Steam group is active and, yes, we did basically give up on Facebook.

2012 also saw the incorporation of several community members into the Podcast: Grant, George, and Cam on a more permanent basis. Episode 65 of the Podcast will feature our first female guest: Amalia, also from the community. We urge you all to speak up and let us know if you’d like to join the show. We simply use Skype and most of us record in our undies 🙂

Another accomplishment was our first hardware review brought to us by a third-party. We reviewed the Open Pandora in November and also interviewed the US Sales Rep on our show. Next year looks very bright and we soon have a hardware review that I am very excited about. Like the Pandora, this is a portable device that runs Linux. But there are some staggering differences that you won’t want to miss out on seeing. We’re going to have the creator of the device on our show in February.

For 2013 we hope to bring you more varied opinions, topics you wish to hear more about and more deeply root ourselves in the community. I can’t promise anymore Star Trek CCG nights, but maybe some shirts with our logo 🙂

Thank you again, on behalf of all of us at Geeks With Wives, for the tremendous support in 2012. Here’s to a bright new year!

Joe – Founder of Geeks With Wives
