Earlier today it was announced that David Goyer would be returning to the DCEU and would be penning Green Lantern Corps alongside Justin Rhodes. It was also confirmed that this will be a “buddy cop film set in space” and will feature both Hal Jordan and John Stewart as Lanterns. So of course, fans took to Twitter to give their support on who should play both. Names like Idris Elba and Tyrese Gibson appeared several times.
However, a fan asked actor Sterling K. Brown (The People vs OJ Simpson) if he would consider John Stewart. Brown was recently cast in Marvel’s Black Panther as well. Sterling K Brown responded a very diplomatic answer:
Dear powers that be, if you are looking for someone to play John Stewart, I humbly submit my name. Namaste?? #GreenLanternCorps https://t.co/1DTshcKS5M
