Earlier this week our friends over at That Hashtag Show revealed that two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster (Hotel Artemis) has entered negotiations to star in FX’s Y: The Last Man TV Series. Foster would be cast as Jennifer Brown the mother to the man character Yorick “Y” Brown. The upcoming series has been in development at FX since 2015 but cameras are expected to be rolling soon:

The series is set to follow escape artist Yorick Brown, the last surviving human with a Y chromosome of a mysterious plague, and his Capuchinmonkey, Ampersand, set out to learn what might have wiped out the world’s male chromosomes.

Melina Matsoukas has been tapped to direct the pilot with filming beginning later this July.

Y will debut on FX in 2019
