AMC’s long-gestating Preacher adaptation from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg (This Is The End) and Sam Catlin (The Great New Wonderful) is finally taking shape and has now found its first cast member and leading lady.
According to Deadline, Ruth Negga, who plays Raina on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has landed the lead female role of Tulip. Tulip is a trained marksman and the ex-girlfriend of Jesse Custer, a small town preacher who hits the road in search of God – who abandoned Heaven and his responsibilities – with the help of Tulip and a vampire named Cassidy.
Goldberg will direct the pilot based on Catlin’s script. Production will begin this summer for series consideration in 2016.
