Alamo Drafthouse announces a one-night Clown Screening

Aug 25, 2017

As if scary ass Pennywise in the upcoming IT film wasn’t enough, The Alamo Drafthouse has announced a “clown screening” for the film which will be hosted at their Mueller location in Austin, TX on September 9th.

Attendees are asked to dress up in their best clown attire. In a statement on their site, the theater mentions, “For this special screening of IT, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend. Please arrive early and join us in the Barrel O’ Fun beginning at 5:30pm for an IT pre-party where we will have face-painters available for clown ‘touch-ups’, a photo booth, raffles for prizes, and other terrifying merriment.”

Didn’t we learn anything from last year’s spectacle with the random clown appearances? Really though, if you are afraid of clowns, I would suggest not going to the theater this day. If you are into being in a dark room full of clowns, this idea actually sounds like a blast. Maybe Drafthouse will host a “Superhero screening” when Inifinity War drops?
