Alexandre Desplat To Compose The Score For STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE

Film Music Report has dug-up information that Gareth Edwards will be re-teaming with his Godzilla composer Alexandre Desplat. While on the French podcast Radio Classique’s Culture Club Desplat confirmed that he would working with Edwards on Star Wars: Rogue One.

You might remember that Lucasfilm confirmed that John Williams would be returning to score J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens. It seems like Williams won’t be scoring the spin-off films and it’s currently up-in-the-air if he’ll be returning for Rian Johnson‘s Episode VIII.

Felicity Jones is the only announced cast member as casting is expected to pick-up since production will begin soon to make it’s December 16th, 2016 release date.

Desplat’s credits include scoring for films such as The Queen, Syriana, A Prophet, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows, The Tree of Life, Moonrise Kingdom, Rust and Bone, Zero Dark Thirty, Argo, The Grand Budapest, Godzilla, and The Imitation Game.

Earning eight Oscar nominations during his career and finally won one for The Grand Budapest.
