Speaking with Den of Geek, Ridley Scott is mentions a bit more concerning Alien: Paradise Lost and those two other sequels he revealed recently. Confirming that production on the Prometheus sequel will begin in March, and that he fully intends on directing all three sequels, taking a page from James Cameron’s Avatar.
“I’m starting at the beginning of March,” he said. So what about the two further sequels that will follow after that?
We asked: “Are you doing those yourself, do you think?”
“This time?” Scott replied, “Definitely. Last time I should have done it.”
Ridley is likely referring to Aliens being taken away from him by the studio and given to James Cameron to make, he subsequently tried to make Alien 5 which was scrapped when the studio passed and made AVP instead. I don’t think he’s ready to give-up on the universe he created, and made sense it was a bigger draw for him, as he exited the Blade Runner 2 director’s chair for it.
