Deadline reports that James Wan and Amblin will be developing a new Arachnophobia movie based on the 1990 original directed by mega-producer Frank Marshall.
Some have suggested that since James is an Aussie filmmker that Australia could play a role as they are well known for their various poisonous spiders. I have my fingers crossed that they go with real and puppet spiders over using CGI which would obviously be less scary.
Wan also teased on Twitter John Goodman‘s return. Goodman played the exterminator in the original film.
Screenwriters are expected to be announced soon.
