Amy Landecker Joins ‘Doctor Strange’, Will She Play Villain Morgan le Fay?

Nov 12, 2015

The Wrap reports that actress Amy Landecker (A Serious Man, Transparent) has landed an unnamed role in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, which is currently shooting on location in Nepal.

Considering the rumor that Rachel McAdams could be playing Night Nurse, it’s possible characters Amy might be up for include sorceresses companion Clea as well. However, her A Serious Man co-star Michael Stuhlbarg was recently cast as a potential villain, which leads to me to believe she might not be playing a nice character in the film.

Villains such as Morgan le Fay aka Lady Morgana and Lilith have clashed with Stephen in the comics, and have been formable foes. The former seemingly like a perfect fit for an origin film, as Marvel might want to keep Baron Mordo more of a mentor for now and making Morgan a lead baddie could happen.

Morgan just happened to be the main villain in the 1970’s TV movie, which might be a major reason to see her apart of the film. I wouldn’t be terribly shocked if the film will have elements from it, including characters like Morgan.
