Amy Schumer Joins Military Drama ‘Thank You For Your Service’; Directed By ‘American Sniper’ Writer

Feb 9, 2016

Deadline has learned that comedic actress Amy Schumer (Trainwreck) is joining the cast of the military drama Thank You For Your Service. The film is a former Steven Spielberg project, that has since has gone to Oscar nominated writer of American Sniper Jason Hall, who will direct to the film that is based on the novel by David Finkle.

A group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life, while living with the memory of a war that threatens to destroy them long after they’ve left the battlefield.

The film already boasts a great group of up-and-coming young actors, which includes Miles Teller (Whiplash), Haley Bennett (The Girl on the Train), Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders), Beulah Koale (The Last Saint), Scott Haze (Child of God), Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), Brad Beyer (42), Omar Dorsey (Selma), and Jayson Warner Smith (The Birth of a Nation).

It’s an interesting acting project for Schumer, who might have taken some acting advice from best-friend Jennifer Lawrence.
