Anna Kendrick Really Wants To Play Robin In Ben Affleck’s ‘The Batman’
During a humorous interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, Anna Kendrick used the chance when the subject moved towards The Batman, to not so covertly hinted to Ben Affleck she’d love to play his sidekick Robin.
Going the extra mile, Anna wore a familiar costume during the interview.
I would crush it in an action movie.
What has two thumbs and loves superhero movies? This guy! Love it, love them!
(*in superhero voice) Put down that school bus doctor disaster I love it.
I don’t know a big whole in the Kendrick schedule, I just wish I knew someone who was directing an action movie and cast little old me, I wish.
Zack Snyder keeps droning-on how much he worships Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns and they’ve left the door open for Carrie Kelley to be the next Robin. Considering they’ve established Jason Todd has been killed by the Joker and Harley Quinn, this could allow for Carrie to be the next Robin.
Carrie’s costume design was oddly used for a male Robin in the upcoming Lego Batman film.
Anna has been vocal about nabbing a superhero role, recently mentioning a desire to play Marvel’s Squirrel Girl, who has recently been announced for a Marvel TV project.
Currently, the only other cast members we know will be in the film include Affleck, Joe Manganiello, Jeremy Irons and J.K. Simmons.
Warner Bros. hasn’t officially set a release date or even a title for solo The Batman film. DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns and Ben are still trying to get the script in a good place before committing to a production start.
