‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ Also Heading To Japan?; Judy Greer Returns As Maggie

Jul 30, 2017

Deadline reports that Judy Greer will be reprising her role as Scott Lang’s ex-wife Maggie in Ant-Man and The Wasp. The fact that we already knew that Abby Ryder Fortson, who plays Lang’s daughter Cassie was returning makes this all the less shocking.

More Judy in any film is a good thing though.

Not to mention, one key plot point rumored for the film is that Scott has the FBI (lead by Jimmy Woo?) on his tail.

Speaking of Cassie, the possible Japan scenes in Avengers 4 might have something to do with Ant-Man as well.

Omega Underground has found a casting call looking for “Asian Looking School Kids” for a scene in the sequel. They just happen to be looking for kids 9-10 years old, around the same age as Abby. Below is the listing.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP/CHERRY BLUE

*ASIAN LOOKING SCHOOL KIDS*

-Boys and Girls, who can portray ages 9 – 10 years of age, students in classroom.

-Scenes will shoot on Saturday August 5, 2017 and Monday August 7, 2017

This might not be Japan as they’ve shot scenes in South Korea and China in other Marvel films, but if Avengers has scenes there it would be a good way to place Wasp and Ant-Man there as well. How many times are they going to destroy and recycle New York as a location?

Perhaps, the family moved overseas to make it easier for Scott to see Cassie.

It’s not hard to imagine with Giant-Man and Goliath confirmed for the film they wouldn’t attempt some kaiju homage action scene set in Japan.

Things like Ultraman come directly to mind here and they could have to deal with large Quantum Realm threats after Janet returns.

Ant-Man and the Wasp shoots until November with a July 6th, 2018 release date.
