Aquaman Green Arrow: Deep Target #1
When I first saw the announcement of this title, I was both confused and excited. I’m always ready for a Green Arrow story, but pairing him with Aquaman seemed odd. And as much as I like Jason Momoa’s take on Arthur Curry, I’m not exactly big on the character — which is probably why I like Jason Momoa’s take on the character. The pairing still feels strange after reading the Aquaman Green Arrow: Deep Target #1, but it totally works.

And for those who saw the preview pages of this series-opening issue, those gave you next to nothing. I generally like knowing very little going into a story, but those pages were almost a misdirection. Don’t get me wrong, those pages aren’t irrelevant or anything, but they are the reason you’ll get sucked into Aquaman Green Arrow: Deep Target #1.
Brandon Thomas and Ronan Cliquet have a surprise in store for readers, which they mask perfectly until the reveal in this issue. Mixed in is some great action between Green Arrow and Aquaman, along with great back and forth between the two. And that back and forth offers up a quick display of Thomas’ feel for the feel for the title characters, giving readers another reason to be optimistic about this series.
Aquaman Green Arrow: Deep Target #1 is absolutely a title you could walk by at your LCS. But you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised if you give it a chance.

Summary
