‘Aquaman’ Writer Says The King of Atlantis Will Have More Fun On Dry Land

Aug 16, 2016

With Aquaman’s small introduction already been made in Batman V Superman and with a bigger role in Justice League next year, it won’t be too long before we’re exploring the depth’s of the sea. And whilst it might only be touched upon in Justice League, James Wans solo Aquaman movie starring former Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis will no doubt explain in greater detail.

One of the greatest things about Aquaman is how his story will focus on the duality of land and sea, and that’s something that makes his solo film one of my most anticipated films within the DC Extended UniverseAquaman co-screenwriter Will Beall recently caught up with Slash Film and spoke about the action in the upcoming superhero film, explaining that not all of the action is underwater.

“I can tell you that not all of the action takes place underwater. Some of the most fun action in the movie actually takes place on dry land.”

Beall also noted that the screenplay for the film was not finished and that he was still working on it with director Wan and President of DC Comics Geoff Johns on it. With Zack Snyder’s Justice League still in production, Beall was asked if any part of the Aquaman solo film was in a state of flux pending on the outcome of the DC superhero team up film.

“No, no, they know what’s happening. Everybody knows what’s happening so it’s not that. It’s working out what’s going to make the best movie.”
