We’ve been tipped-off to a casting-call from Jina Jay Casting for an untitled Michael Fassbender project which will be directed by Justin Kurzel. Obviously, they’re talking about Fox’s Assassin’s Creed movie and the posting seemingly confirms it will shoot in London this summer/fall.
The film is a partnership between Ubisoft and New Regency with 20th Century Fox set to distributed the film.
Oscar winner Marion Cotillard (Inception, Dark Knight Rises) who co-stars with Fassbender in Kurzel’s Macbeth is already attached as the female lead in the film as reported by Deadline.
It looks like the studio wants to add more actresses to the video game adaptation. Check out the information below about the two female supporting roles they are casting for the film.
DIRECTOR: Justin Kurzel
FILMING: In London from Late Summer 2015
aged 14 – 18 yrs old AND a young woman aged 26 – 30 yrs old for supporting roles in an untitled prestigious feature film starring Michael Fassbender.
YOUNG GIRL & YOUNG WOMAN:
We are looking for girls (14-18 yrs old) and young women (26-30 yrs old) with strong ability in any of the following fields:
- Urban street dance & hip hop
Any ethnicity. Must be able to speak English.
No previous acting experience is required.
The only known actress I think could pull-off that older parkour role would be Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe 2, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, District B13 Ultimatum, Gods of Egypt), who was a strong candidate for the role of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman before Gal Gadot landed it. She also managed to pull-off playing a badass ninja in G.I. Joe Retaliation opposite legendary stuntman Ray Park.
Parkour has always been a bit of a tricky thing as it’s huge in Europe, while American audiences still have a bit of aversion to it. The trend was so popular post-The Incredible Hulk and A Good Day To Die Hard, that director Lexi Alexander decided to blow-up a group of them in Punisher War Zone for comedic effect.
I’m curious if we’ll be seeing famous male French parkour action stars David Belle (Brick Mansions) and Cyril Raffaelli (Die Hard 4, Kiss of The Dragon, Transporter 2, Incredible Hulk, Ronin, Brotherhood of The Wolf, Hitman) from District B13 showing up in the film.
It would also be cool to see badass British martial artist Scott Adkins (Bourne Ultimatum, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Unleashed, Expendables 2, Universal Solider 4) taking a supporting or villainous role as well.
Assassin’s Creed is expected to be ready for release on see the film ready for release on December 21st, 2016. That release date might change due to the release of Star Wars: Rogue One on December 16th, 2016.
