Berlin Syndrome director Cate Shortland is reportedly one of three female directors that Marvel Studios has on a shortlist to make Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Deadline seemingly alluding that Shortland is the frontrunner.
The other two candidates are Amma Asante and Maggie Betts.
Marvel had been meeting with over forty directors and hopefully this is the final shortlist.
It’s unknown when the film is looking to film but a summer shoot for next year feels like a good bet to make. A release date has yet to be announced but will likely drop in 2020.
There are three movies slatted for release in 2020 which likely also include Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3 and possibly The Eternals.
