James Cameron’s Avatar 2, the first of three sequels to the 2009 movie Avatar, will not hit theaters Dec. 25, 2017. No new release date has been set.

This is the second delay for the film. Its original release was December 2016. The two follow-up films were originally scheduled to release in the same holiday time frame in 2018 and 2019. Leads Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana already signed on for the trilogy in 2014.
