What is it about?
Minor Spoilers ahead
This time around Batman finds himself in the sunlit futuristic world of tomorrow and Superman is in the dark noir world of the knight. Bats and Supes decide to change places to better use their strengths against the villains they are up against. With both their worlds in rack and ruin, will these heroes be able to save their world’s existences in time?
We get to see an exceptionally crafty and intelligent villain, in a very different setting than what we are used to. Will the counterpart of the before mention villain play nice? Will they have the same goals and characteristics? Will they even look the same? Can it be possible that one will be on the hero’s side? The answers for your burning questions should be in the latest issues of Batman/Superman 2021 Annual #1
O, the art takes you back to the golden age of heroes. Although this is written and illustrated in 2021, the look and feel of this takes you back. You can flip through the pages without reading a word, and you will find yourself reminiscing about the good old days when Batman and Superman were more than mere fantasy or characters in a comic book. For me, Francesco Francavilla captured the essence of what made these characters “super” to begin with.
I would recommend this to any Batman or Superman fan. With amazing art and smart writing, you will find yourself running through the pages.
