‘Beauty and the Beast’ Director Bill Condon Enters Talks To Direct ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’

Apr 14, 2017

Deadline is reporting that Beauty & the Beast director Bill Condon has entered talks to direct The Bride of Frankenstein. This comes after Beauty and the Beast surpassed $1 Billion at the worldwide box office. Making it the highest grossing musical of all time.

Originally, it was rumored that Universal Studios was courting Angelina Jolie to both direct and star but that rumor seems to pass. We also heard that Javier Bardem (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) has signed on to play Frankenstein’s monster in several upcoming Classic Monster films. This would be yet another entry into the Universal Classic Monsters Cinematic Universe after this year’s The Mummy starring Tom Cruise.

Currently, Universal has two dates saved for upcoming Classic Monster films that include April 13, 2018, and February 15, 2019.
