Ben Affleck’s Solo ‘Batman’ Movie Is “A Year And A Half Out” Says Warner Bros CEO

Sep 26, 2016

Ben Affleck’s standalone Batman movie is one of the DC Extended Universe’s most highly anticipated films within Warner Bros shared superhero universe. And after Affleck shone as the Caped Crusader in Batman V Superman this year fans and the studio are desperate to see more Batman.

When Warner Bros announced their DCEU movie slate back in 2014, the Batman standalone was said to be in the works, but no official date for release was ever revealed. Recently however things have started to move forward with the film after it was revealed that Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello would play Deathstroke. Now Warner Bros CEO Jeff Bewkes has gave an update on when the film might be released.

Speaking at the 25th Annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference Bewkes spoke about the success of both Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad before going on to speak about Affleck’s Batman film.

“Ben (Affleck) announced a Batman movie. He’s going to direct, star, write. I think it’s a year and a half out”.

If this pans out we could be seeing the first standalone Batman film as early as March 2018, and if that’s the case thought that would probably mean The Flash solo movie will vacate its release spot. Could this mean the Scarlet Speedster will be hitting screens sooner than originally expected? Questions, questions.
