BIG RUMOR: Danny Boyle’s ‘Bond 25’ Might Be Casting A Russian Villain and Bond Girl

Jul 18, 2018

A possible casting call is making the rounds on Bond fan websites, claiming that Danny Boyle is currently casting actors to play “Russian villain” and “Russian Bond girl” in Bond 25.

Although, while it’s only a rumor, my first thoughts are it’s a little too on–the-nose with recent topical events going on. Then again, Russians have always played a role as franchise antagonists due to the Cold War setting of most of the novels and Daniel Craig has yet to go head-to-head with one.

Also, it seems like they could be looking to cast a Maori actor as a henchman.

Keep in mind, usually major Bond casting calls don’t leak on random websites and that anything concerning Bond spreads like wildfire. True or not. Take the casting call with a good pinch of salt until it can be authenticated.

I was kind of hoping that we end up seeing another double-agent plot, as Daniel Craig’s pal Mark Strong is rumored to be potentially joining the film.

Filming is set to begin on December 3rd at Pinewood Studios UK with the release date set for November 8th, 2019.
