Another weekend and another low estimate, it was looking like Black Panther was looking at $100 million second weekend.
Now, more current estimate have it landing more in the realm of $112 million (actuals could be slightly higher) which means a 45% drop from last weekend and has toppled Avengers‘ $103 million for their second weekend.
Worldwide it has earned $708 million and domestically $404 million. Impressive since it’s only been out for two weekends.
By the end of the week Panther should surpass other MCU films like Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s also looking like it’ll indeed cross a billion as the film is still yet to open in major markets like China.
Being a box office monster it’s hard not to see Marvel fast-track a sequel.
