‘Black Panther’ Actress Danai Gurira In Early Talks For ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ Role

Jul 13, 2018

Danai Gurira is seemingly becoming an in-demand actress after her work on the series Walking Dead and Black Panther‘s massive success earlier in the year.

Deadline reports she is now “early talks” for Godzilla vs Kong, which has Adam Wingard attached to direct at Legendary/WB. Millie Bobby Brown and Julian Dennison are currently set to star in the crossover which we’ve pointed out is set to begin filming around early October.

Omega Underground previously reported the film’s working title will be Apex with an expectation to make a return to Skull Island filming locations of Hawaii and Australia. Atlanta was also being eyed but there is a good chance they might not be back this time.

She’s also said to be “circling” a part in SJ Clarkson’s untitled Star Trek 4 that is setup at Paramount, assumed not to be the Quentin Tarantino version. It’s unknown when that is expected to begin filming and has yet to land a release date.

Godzilla vs Kong has been set for release on May 22nd, 2020.
