‘Black Panther’ Art Director Alan Hook Was Attached To ‘Guardians 3’ Before James Gunn’s Firing

Aug 20, 2018

Now with James Gunn‘s exit from Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 all but confirmed.

There is an interesting crew hiring that is now up-in-the-air. Marvel had tasked Black Panther supervising art director Alan Hook (Furious 7, Iron Man 3, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) to take a similar role on the third film.

It remains to be seen if Marvel Studios will keep Alan and Drive production designer Beth Mickle (we previously reported was attached to the sequel) as an incoming director could make crew changes. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Until we have a new director it’s hard to predict if they’ll be able to keep on the original production schedule which was to begin filming next February in Atlanta.

Marvel Studios has yet to give the film an official release date.
