‘Black Panther’ Costume Designer To Work Her Magic On ‘Silver and Black’

Dec 1, 2017

A few days ago, Omega Underground revealed pre-production has begun on Gina Prince-Bythewood‘s Spider-Man spinoff Silver and Black with visual effects supervisor Sheena Duggal (Agent Carter, The Hunger Games) joining the crew.

Well, we have another crew hiring that should make Marvel fans happy as we’ve learned that Black Panther’s extremely talented costume designer Ruth E. Carter has come on board to Silver and Black.

There are plenty of elaborate costumes for the two-time Oscar nominee with Silver Sable and Black Cat as the titular characters. Not to mention the rumored Spidey rogues gallery said to be making their debut in the film.

Ruth’s impressive career includes working on films like Malcom X, Selma, Marshall, Summer of Sam, Amistad, and Do The Right Thing. She recently got lots of love from comic book fans for her stunning and detailed costuming work bringing the people of Wakanda to life in Black Panther.

Gina and Ruth previously worked together on Love and Basketball.

Silver and Black is set to begin casting soon with production expected to start in the first quarter of next year in Atlanta with it’s release date scheduled for February 8th, 2019.
