The Wrap reports that Fox has hired Michael Green to do script work on James Mangold’s Wolverine 3. Previously, Mangold had been flushing out the story/script with writer David James Kelly but his name has magically disappeared from the new report, I’m curious if he’s been fired and his work tossed-out. I’m sure other reports might clarify what the deal is with David’s role in the project. Kelly had been tasked to write the Daredevil reboot for Fox before the rights reverted back to Marvel.
Green has been gathering quite the repuation for reworking high profile projects including Blade Runner 2 and Prometheus 2.
James Mangold has confirmed that production is expected to begin early next year, with Patrick Stewart possibly taking a secondary lead role. A synopsis hasn’t been revealed but there is some speculation that Old Man Logan could influence the third installment.
Wolverine 3 has a release date of March 3rd, 2017 and is expected to be the last X-Men outing for actor Hugh Jackman.
