With The Last Jedi finished its opening weekend, all eyes are now on J.J. Abrams’ Episode IX (with the rumored working title Black Diamond). Production is set to begin in June at Pinewood Studios UK and a script is currently in the process of being completed.
A crew is starting to be assembled. Previously, we revealed that Abrams would be bringing back multiple Oscar-nominee Roger Guyett (The Force Awakens) as the film’s visual effects supervisor.
We now have word that Force Awakens and Last Jedi costume designer Michael Kaplan is coming back as well to work his magic on another wave of amazing and elaborate costumes for Episode IX. Kaplan’s sci-fi roots go back to Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner from 1982.
The untitled final chapter in the trilogy will be released on December 20th, 2019.
