It was recently reported by TheWrap that Vin Diesel would be replacing Jared Leto (previously in talks) as the lead of Sony’s Bloodshot film. Blur Studio’s Dave Wilson would be making his feature directing debut on the comic book film after the John Wick guys departed to focus on other things.
We’ve now learned that the studio aims to get cameras rolling by May with production taking place over the summer.
This likely all depends on when Universal expects to get Furious 9 shooting as it looks like that’ll be happening before Hobbs and Shaw due to both Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham have their summer schedules filled. Furious 9 is already getting it’s crew together but it’s unknown when filming begins.
Previously, we revealed Sony was planning on to film Bloodshot in Budapest, Hungary and Capetown, South Africa. Blade Runner 2049 was recently shot in Budapest while Mad Max: Fury Road and Dredd spent time shooting in Capetown.
We assume that Sony will use Origo Films Studio in Budapest, a location that the Crow reboot is said to be shooting.
Production and release dates are currently unknown.
