Blur’s Jeff Fowler and Tim Miller Making Sony’s ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Movie

Oct 31, 2016

Deadpool‘s Tim Miller is looking to give his animation studio Blur land a big studio project.

screen-shot-2016-10-31-at-5-47-32-pmThe Hollywood Reporter as learned that Miller and longtime Blur collaborator Jeff Fowler are going to tackle an animated Sonic The Hedgehog feature for Sony Pictures.

Fowler will make his feature directorial debut on the project as Miller will be an executive producer.

Patrick Casey and Josh Miller are currently writing the film’s script.

Fowler’s work includes the very Sonic-like trailer short for the game Atlas Reactor.

Blur is one of the best animation houses out there, so seeing them make the jump to feature films isn’t entirely surprising. The studio has also been trying to get an animated feature film version of the comic book The Goon into production as well.

With projects like Wreck It Ralph 2 on the horizon and the massive popularity of the cartoony first person shooter game Overwatch, we’re not surprised that Sony wants their Sonic movie in production soon.

Tim’s next feature film is said to be the cyberpunk action film Influx for 20th Century Fox.
