Bond Producers Should Hire Norwegian Singer Ane Brun For ‘Bond 25’

Sep 25, 2015

They just released the new Bond theme for Spectre, which is sung by Sam Smith. While it’s fine and dandy, it’s not really blowing me away and it’s likely because Smith doesn’t have the voice you’d expect for a Bond theme. It’s very timid and poppy, which I assume is the major reason for his hiring, as popular singers have been singing these themes for ages.

However, I think it’s about time they brought back the classy stage singers they used to. Someone I’ll be campaigning for to sing on Bond 25 will be Norwegian singer Ane Brun, a hugely talented singer who for the most part is underrated and not as well known. The thing of it is, she does have that Bond spirit in her songs and live performances, along with a jazzy edge we haven’t had since the great Shirley Bassey.

This live performance of the song This Voice, is a perfect of example of what she could bring to the next Bond theme.

Here’s her recent song Shape of A Heart from the new album When I’m Free, which to me is just a catchy as anything Smith has put out. I just feel Bond producers could be doing a better job with the theme next time, and I’d love to see them strongly consider using Ane.
