Brad Peyton’s Post-Apocalypse Netflix Series ‘Daybreak’ Shoots This November In New Mexico – Plus Audition Tapes

Sep 15, 2018

Netflix and director Brad Peyton (San Andreas, Rampage) have teamed-up for a post-apocalypse series Daybreak. The dramedy series is based on the graphic novel by Aron Eli Coleite (Star Trek: Discovery).

17-year-old high school outcast Josh searching for his missing girlfriend Sam in post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. Joined by a ragtag group of misfits including a pyromaniac 12-year-old Angelica and Josh’s former high school bully Wesley, now turned pacifist samurai, Josh tries to stay alive amongst the horde of Mad Max-style gangs (evil jocks, cheerleaders turned Amazon warriors), zombie-like creatures called Ghoulies, and everything else this brave new world throws at him.

We’ve learned that filming on the Netflix series will begin on November 26th in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Omega Underground can confirm casting is well underway as we’ve exclusively uncovered some audition tapes for series lead Angelica, a 10 year old arsonist that joins Josh on his quest to find his missing love Sam.

The tapes feature young actresses Eva Hague and Alexis Sitek cussing up a storm which suggests the series will be a lot more mature than something like Stranger Things.

Daybreak is expected to drop it’s 10-episodes on the streaming service sometime in 2019.
