Brad Pitt Officially Joins Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ Opposite Leonardo DiCaprio

Mar 1, 2018

Quentin Tarantino‘s 9th film set during the summer of 1969 in Hollywood has finally has landed a title which will be Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The title is a direct nod to Sergio Leone classics Once Upon A Time In The West and Once Upon A Time In America.

Another update is that Brad Pitt who had been circling the co-lead has taken the part.

Pitt will play Cliff Both, Leonardo DiCaprio‘s (aging TV western actor Rick Dalton) longtime stuntman. The film will focus on their attempt to break into Hollywood. Both DiCaprio and Pitt have worked with Tarantino on Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds previously.

The film will also explore the Manson Murders, expected to be more in the background with Margot Robbie in the mix to play Sharon Tate and an unknown Polish actor poised to play Roman Polanski (convicted of statutory rape in the United States). However, we’re hoping Tarantino cuts the Polanski role entirely after a decade old Howard Stern interview resurfaced where Quentin had been defending the director’s actions.

Production set to start this June in Los Angeles with Sony setting its release date for August 9th, 2019.
