Bryan Cranston has joined the cast of the Power Rangers movie. The Breaking Bad star who voiced a few of the in the popular 90’s TV series villain’s back in the day, will play Rangers mentor Zordon in the big screen reboot.

Cranston announced his involvement in the film via his Twitter account.

For those of you not familiar with Power Rangers history (did you have a childhood?) Zordon was in a battle with Rita Repulsa (who will be played by Elizabeth Banks in the new film). And during the fight, Rita traps Zordon in a time warp as he seals her along with her flunkeys in a dumpster on the moon. Ten thousand years pass, Zordon along with his robot assistant Alpha create Power Morphers, Power Coins, and the Dinozords, incase the day ever comes in which Rita escapes. Nosey astronauts unseal the dumpster, and release Rita’s evil ways upon the earth once again. Zordon then recruit’s five teenagers with attitude to become the Power Rangers and defend the Earth from the incoming Rita Repulsa.

Let’s hope they cast Cranston’s former Breaking Bad co-star Aaron Paul as Alpha.

Power Rangers will hit screens March 24, 2017.
