Bryan Singer Confirms The Morlocks Are Apart of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
Bryan Singer has been revealing details of X-Men: Apocalypse slowly via social media, from casting to certain plot points and costume designs.
A new image from the set has Singer confirming that mutant sub-group The Morlocks will have a strong presence in the film, as Caliban‘s sewer digs will be featured in the film. Caliban is both a Morlock and one of Apocalypse’s Four Horseman, who could be in the ranks with Archangel (Ben Hardy) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn). I’m unsure if we’ll be seeing other Morlocks in the film since it’s already crowded, but having Singer setting them up isn’t hard to imagine. I also wouldn’t be shocked seeing Caliban becoming one of Apocalypse’s minions, as he’s able to identify mutants in a certain range of distance to them.
I’ve already pointed out how the Morlocks could become super important in the X-Men universe, mainly because they allow to branch-out to other films and there’s so many of them that they could help push the franchise forward without having to rely on key the X-Men lineup. We have a Morlock in Deadpool‘s lineup with Gina Carano playing Angel Dust. I also expect we could see them being apart of Channing Tatum‘s Gambit as well.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27th, 2016.
